We are in Müritz Nationalpark, a large nature park in North-East Germany. Around sunset, thousands of cranes gather for the night. With a loud trumpeting the swarms of cranes announce themselves and my husband and I do not get tired of this spectacle. In the dark we walk back to our hotel. My husband chats with the waiter. He says that people come here from far and wide. “For those beautiful cranes, of course,” my husband says. „Nein, für unsere Wildgulasch.”
