I walk into the room where I’m about to get a massage. A new face smiles kindly at me. We discuss background music, massage oil scents and pain points. I undress and lie down. “You certainly hear this often, but you look so much like Carice van Houten,” says the masseuse.

I lift my head from the hole in the massage couch and say, beaming: “Yes, I hear that often, but thank you. What a nice compliment.”

She looks at me somewhat surprised: “Do you think so?”
