Opinion | Brushes – NRC

She is 89 years old and walks every morning with iron discipline. She survived the Japanese camp so a shower doesn’t deter her. Today she calls me, the postman. “I need new brushes.” She shows me her electric toothbrush. “Stores don’t have these anymore. Would you like to order them for me online? I can’t do that.” I ask how many she wants. “Well, not too much. I don’t know if I can last longer than two brushes.”
