Opinion | Boar – NRC

For the last time, after a long career in the civil service, I train home from The Hague. Pension. Will I miss this ride? Two girls sit opposite me with earphones in and listen to music. The conductor calls out: “We have to wait for a red signal.” One girl takes a cap out of her ear and asks, “What’s he saying?” The other picks a cap from her ear and says, “We’ll have to wait for a wild boar.” Yes, I’m going to miss that.
