December Dance is a collaboration between the Concertgebouw, the Cultural Center and the Kaap Arts Center. The theme this year is polyphony and this is also reflected in the opening performance. The dancers of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen may open December Dance and they will do so in an atypical way.
“Both pieces have their roots in classical ballet, although you won’t immediately think so when you look at them. In one piece we dance on pointes, in the other piece we dance to techno music. It will be a very fascinating contrast,” says Kirsten Wicklund of Opera Ballet Flanders.
