Opening victory for Norway at the women’s handball championship

The defending champions from Norway celebrated a successful start at the European Handball Championships in Slovenia, Montenegro and North Macedonia. The eight-time European champion beat Croatia in Ljubljana by 32:23 (16:14).

The best thrower for the Scandinavians was Nora Mork with eight goals. In the second game of group A, Hungary defeated the coming Norwegian opponent Switzerland after a deficit at the break with 33:28 (12:14).

The German women, who are hoping for a medal in the title fights, will start the tournament against Poland on Saturday (8:30 p.m. / Sportdeutschland TV). Other group opponents of the DHB women coached by national coach Markus Gaugisch are co-hosts Montenegro and Spain.
