Raise your hands, weekend! Finally time for friends, family, a trip and of course one of the favorite pastimes in Germany: watch films and series. Relaxing on the sofa in the evening with a bowl of snacks and watching an entertaining series, an exciting crime thriller or a heartbreaking drama is now part of the normal evening program for many. Most popular place to go for this: streaming services. Accordingly, providers such as Netflix and Disney+ publish new content weekly, sometimes daily, so that you often have to rummage through the media libraries for a while before you can even get to the snacks before you find what you are looking for. TECHBOOK has therefore specifically checked this week’s new releases from all well-known streaming providers available in Germany and put together a selection of highlights. New series from streaming providers
In recent years in particular, there has been a boom in the series sector. The individual episodes are usually shorter than a whole film and we can always return to the characters we love. Here are a few series streaming tips for anyone who wants a marathon series or just a few uncomplicated episodes in a row.
Netflix
Netflix subscribers can primarily look forward to the start of Season 5 “Elite” this weekend, which will be available from April 8th. Then we will finally know how the students of the elite school Las Encinas will continue! Seasons 1-4 are also available to watch on Netflix.
A new South Korean series will also start on April 9th Netflix, first impressions are extremely promising. In “Tomorrow” a young man encounters a group of so-called Angels of Death who have made it their mission to save people.
Disney+
The new Marvel series “Moon Knight” has been running at Disney+ since last week, with new episodes appearing every Wednesday. If you haven’t seen episode 2 yet or maybe haven’t watched the series at all, we warmly recommend it. You don’t have to be a Marvel fan to enjoy the plot of Steven Grant, a museum shop employee who suffers from insomnia!
Documentary fans can register at Disney+ also look forward to “constructions of superlatives”. In six episodes so far, gigantic projects such as the ISS space station or the Burj Khalifa presented. A must-see streaming tip!
The series “Somebody Somewhere” has been running since April 7th sky. The comedy series is based on the life of stand-up star Bridget Everett.
Amazon Prime Video
The series “Wolf like Me” has been running on Amazon Prime Video since April 1st. Despite mixed reviews, Isla Fisher and Josh Gad’s series about an unlikely couple with a dark secret is well worth watching.
RTL+
With “The Catch” (season 1-2), a series worth seeing is coming to RTL+ for crime thriller fans. The notorious private investigator Alice Vaughan falls for a marriage swindler. A cat and mouse game begins.
From April 9th, RTL+ subscribers can also stream the BBC comedy series “Starstruck”. In it, Jessie, who is moderately successful at work and privately, has a one-night stand with film star Tom.

Netflix brings the movie “Metal Lords” to this weekend, in which two young outsiders finally want to take off with their metal band.
Our streaming tip for Disney+ is not a brand new movie, but it will be on the streaming service starting April 8th. Bohemian Rhapsody is a biographical drama about the world-renowned band Queen and their frontman Freddie Mercury. Among other things, the Oscar-winning performance by Rami Malek makes the film absolutely worth seeing.
at Amazon Prime Video there is a thriller with Thandiwe Newton and Chris Pine with “All The Old Knives”, which has mixed reviews but is still recommendable. Years after an unsolved plane hijacking, two CIA agents meet again to find out the truth.
“Because we champions are” is a German comedy starring Wotan Wilke Möhring as a failed basketball coach. When he’s caught drunk driving, he’s assigned to do his community service as a coach for a basketball team with mentally challenged players. This streaming tip is available at RTL+ to see.
