The Hamburg online fashion retailer About You has chosen a very special partner for its “first international male collection”. For the “Sinned x About You” capsule collection, the e-commerce specialist collaborated with basketball star Dennis Schröder. The results of the collaboration for the coming autumn/winter season will be available from Wednesday in all 26 About You online stores across Europe.
The timing couldn’t be better: in recent weeks, the Braunschweig native, who is under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA, caused a sensation as captain of the German national team at the European Basketball Championship and was able to celebrate winning the bronze medal on Sunday .
Sofia Hagemeier, Team Lead Exclusive Cooperations at About You, explained the collaboration: “For us, Dennis Schröder was not only the perfect, but also the first choice for our international male debut. On the one hand, of course, his sporting success, but on the other hand, above all, his passion and sense of fashion and styling inspired us,” she said in a statement on Friday. “From the beginning, Dennis and his wife Ellen have been passionately involved in creating and curating the pieces and we’re sure the collection will be celebrated by his community and beyond.”
According to the company, the “Sinned x About You” capsule includes 26 styles, including “street style pieces such as shirts, tops and socks with special highlights such as bomber and puffer jackets as well as timeless knitwear for more elegant occasions”. There are also versions for children of some of the pieces. “It was super important to me that my first collection reflects my life and my family plays the biggest and most important role in that. That’s why an easy and at the same time cool partner look for me and my kids should definitely be included,” explained Schröder in a statement.
