OneWeb, a British satellite Internet development company, has signed an agreement with American billionaire Elon Musk’s SpaceX Corporation to launch satellites into low Earth orbit, should from a statement on the organization’s website.
The company and SpaceX have entered into an agreement that will allow OneWeb to resume satellite launches.
The company expects that the first communication satellites will be launched into low Earth orbit as early as 2022.
Previously, the company cooperated in this matter with Roskosmos, but on March 3, its board of directors decided to suspend preparations for all planned launches of its satellites from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Later, the information about the termination of training was confirmed by the head of the Russian state corporation Dmitry Rogozin. Roskosmos has decided to cancel all launches of Russian rockets in the interests of the company at other spaceports – Kourou (in French Guiana) and Vostochny, he said.
