One turned down acting jobs, another was accused of assault

The British series Sydämen’s issue delighted viewers for almost two decades.

In the Sydämen asialla series, the lives of the small residents of Aidensfield and Ashfordly were followed from the police station, the doctor and the pub-inn. The series loved by Finns was made between 1992 and 2010.

Nick Berry (Nick Rowan)

Derek Fowlds (Oscar Blaketon)

The character of Derek Fowlds was seen both as a police chief, running the post office and behind the pub counter. PDO

When Heartbeat ended, was Derek Fowlds 73 years old. After 18 years in the role, Fowlds did one more small television job before retiring.

Simons, who started his career as a child actor, died in 2019 at the age of 78. In his last years, Simons spent a lot of time in France, where he had bought a house.

Bill Maynard (Claude Greengrass)

Bill Maynard entertained viewers in the role of law-abiding Greengrass until 2000. In 2003, he renewed his role for seven episodes Heartbeat in the spin-off series Village hospital.

Maynard did a few more roles as an actor before his death in 2018. In his last years, Maynard suffered from motor impairment following numerous brain infarctions. Shortly before his death, he had fallen off his electric scooter and broken his hip.

Maynard was 89 years old when he died.

Geoffrey Hughes (Vernon Scripps)

After the end of the “Sydämen asialla” series, Lonsdale was seen among other things in Coronation Street, In Downton Abbey and In Emmerdale.

Over the past few years, Lonsdale has excelled on the theater stage and as a radio host.

Lonsdale married Diana– with his wife in 1993. The couple has three children.

John Duttine (George Miller)

John Duttine, 74, played Chief George Miller of Aidensfield Police Station in the series’ final seasons. Originally, however, he had guested in the series already in its first season in the role of activist Paul Methorn.
