Norwegian former road cyclist and current TV expert Mads Kaggestad commented to Norway’s TV2 about Monday’s shock news that the top French soccer player Paul Pogba has given a positive doping sample.
the BBC according to Pogba, he gave a sample with high testosterone levels after the Udinese-Juventus match on August 20.
The use of testosterone is prohibited in tested sports at all times, unless the athlete has freedom of choice.
Kaggestad said for TV2 directly, that testosterone, i.e. the so-called male hormone, has a direct healing effect on an athlete’s performance.
– It is a great substance for improving performance. There are really good reasons to take it if you want to perform better, Kaggestad told TV2, referring to Pogba’s cart.
Sometimes it is said that in football, which is strongly based on individual skill and team play, the use of doping would not be beneficial.
– Football requires good fitness, strength and energy. There are a lot of games and the pressure to perform well is intense. The need is no less than in any other sport. One of the stupidest things I’ve heard is that it (doping) is not useful in football, Kaggestad uploaded.
According to Kaggestad, the use of testosterone has become more and more common.
Pogba is one of the most famous soccer players in the world.
