The beetroot-blue cheese box has become one of the favorite boxes on the Finnish Christmas table.
Its recipe is searched for a lot in Iltalehti’s recipe service Kotikoki, among others.
It is a perfect addition to the Christmas table.
Beetroot blue cheese box
500 g of beetroot
75–100 g blue cheese (to taste)
2 dl cooking cream
1 teaspoon of salt
a pinch of black pepper
2 teaspoons of honey
2 teaspoons of balsamic (preserves the taste and color of the beetroot)
1. Peel and slice the beets into thin slices. Layer the beetroot with the cheese and spices in the baking dish so that the beetroot layer remains last.
2. Pour the cream after. Bake in the oven at 175 degrees for about 30-40 minutes until the beets are cooked.
