“Marlowe” with Liam Neeson

Actor Liam Neeson only became an action star in the second half of his life. Films like “The Marksman” or “Retribution” prove that the 71-year-old still knows exactly how to present himself. However, Neeson also has the softer tones, like in the detective thriller “Marlowe”.
Directed by Neil Jordan (“The Crying Game”), Liam Neeson goes on an investigation as the eponymous private investigator. Written by William Monahan, who won an Oscar for his adapted script for Martin Scorsese’s The Departed in 2007. Marlowe is also an adaptation again, this time from a series of novels penned by Raymond Chandler. Chandler’s other stories about the detective Philip Marlowe have already been made into films, as in 1946 with Humphrey Bogart in the leading role.
About the content of the film
Private detective Philip Marlowe’s (Neeson) doldrums come to an abrupt end when the charming Clare Cavendish (Diane Kruger) receives a new assignment: her lover Nico Peterson (François Arnaud), and the police have hastily closed the case. He accepts the job without hesitation and gets on the trail of an influential family that knows no scruples.
