Due to technical defects, a metro on metro lines 50, 51, 53 and 54 has been shut down. According to a spokesperson for the GVB, each device is a different problem. The transport company hopes that the problems will be resolved in the course of the afternoon.
The defective vehicles have been brought to the scheduled workshop in Diemen, a spokesperson for the GVB said. There it is examined for defects. As soon as they are found and fixed, the subways are tested.
So it can take a while before the metros are checked. The GVB therefore hopes that metros that are brought to the workshop during the weekend can be deployed a little earlier than usual.
