On Thursday morning around 4:40 a.m., a fire broke out in the basement of a high-rise building on Bergfriedstrasse in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, a fire department spokesman said on Thursday morning.
Accordingly, several basement shacks in the 13-storey residential building on Bergfriedstrasse caught fire on Thursday morning. Residents then called the fire department.
According to the spokesman, the fire caused a lot of smoke to develop. According to the spokesman, around 15 people were initially taken to safety and taken care of in a fire brigade bus.
According to the information, the extinguishing work continued. A total of 100 emergency services are on site. It is still unclear why the basement fire broke out.
