One in three young people has ever been a victim of online hate. “Young people don’t know how to react or where to find support”

One in three young people between the ages of 15 and 25 has been a victim of online hate. Nude photos of one in four have even been distributed. This, and other worrying statistics, is evident from a large-scale study by several Belgian universities. The researchers argue for more attention in education and the media about the impact of this online violence and how to respond to incidents. “Victims do not seek sufficient help from parents and support organizations.”
