After a body was found in a house in Kroppen (Oberspreewald-Lausitz), the murder commission in Cottbus (Brandenburg) investigated a violent crime.

According to press spokesman Maik Kettlitz, a man informed the police on Wednesday morning that an injured 24-year-old neighbor had asked him for help.

When police arrived, a garage on the neighboring property was on fire. Firefighters rescued a seriously injured man.

In the adjacent apartment building that was not affected by the fire, the police discovered a dead woman.

“The deceased has injuries that suggest a violent crime,” said Kettlitz of the dpa.

Traces are currently being secured and investigations into the events are underway.
