During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, five shootings took place in various working-class areas in Marseille, resulting in one death. That brings the number of drug-related deaths in the city since the beginning of this year to fifteen.
The deceased man was wounded during the last shooting at around 12:30 p.m. and later died of his injuries. The two other men, aged 21 and 30, were seriously injured in the same firefight. The condition of the men is not yet clear. In the four other shootings, a few were slightly injured.
The motive for the shootings is not yet known.
