From Friday 25 February 2022, the mandatory distance of 1.5 meters will no longer apply. This is an important step in the further opening of the Netherlands. Most of the other corona rules that still apply now will also expire. You no longer have to show the corona ticket in, for example, the catering industry, cinemas and museums. In addition, normal opening hours apply again and a fixed seat is no longer required.

Advice to limit the spread of corona

Corona will not go away, that is now clear. That is why we must continue to pay attention and help each other so that we do not infect each other. Everyone wants or does it just a little differently. We respect each other’s choices. It remains sensible for everyone to still adhere to the basic advice. This concerns advice that demonstrably limits the spread of the virus, such as:

  • stay at home with complaints,
  • do a self-test regularly and
  • provide plenty of fresh air indoors.

The advice to work from home half of the time also continues to apply.

Voluntary keeping distance and mouth caps

Many people still like to keep their distance. Or wear a face mask. For example because they have a fragile health. This is one of the reasons why face masks are still mandatory in and around public transport, at stations, airports and on airplanes. Indoor meetings with more than 500 people without a fixed seat, such as night catering and festivals, are again possible. The following applies: Test before access.

Test for access

At ‘Test for access’ make an appointment for a corona test via testforaccess.org. If you test negative, you will be given a code. You can use this in the CoronaCheck app to retrieve the test result and to create a test certificate. The test certificate is valid for 24 hours from the moment of testing. The access control is checked in the same way as always: the QR code is scanned and the proof of identity is checked. If everything is correct, the inspector will see a blue screen with a tick. This screen is now blue instead of green to show everyone that you have been checked against the 1G access rule (test proof only).

On March 15 assessment corona rules

On 15 March, the cabinet will reassess whether

  • the obligation to wear a mask in public transport,
  • mandatory testing for access (1G) and
  • the homework advice

should be continued further.
