Once upon a time there was crime on Rai 2: film, plot, cast, on TV tonight

Sevening at 9.30pm on Rai 2 goes on air Once upon a time there was crime by Massimiliano Bruno, third and final chapter of the trilogy about the unlikely band of criminals and friends who travel through time. This time the small group meets again in 1943during the Second World War, alongside two new adventure companions: Carolina Crescentini and Giampaolo Morelli.

Their intention is to steal the Mona Lisa from the Louvre and bring her back to Italy. But it will be a difficult taskbetween the war, the Nazi occupation and an unexpected meeting that will disrupt their plan. There will be laughter despite the bombs and the entanglement with the most complex period in the history of humanity.

Once upon a time there was crime: the plot

This third chapter of the trilogy follows the successful films All we have left is crime (2019) e Return to crime (2021). In this latest adventure the unlikely band of criminals, formed by friends Moreno (Marco Giallini) and Giuseppe (Gian Marco Tognazzi), is ready to get into trouble again in an era far removed from her own. The goal is go back in time to 1943, steal the Mona Lisa from the French and bring it back to modern times in Italy. He sets out to help them in their undertaking Claudio Ranieri (Giampaolo Morelliwhich replaces the character of Alessandro Gassmann)a very fussy history professor.

Obviously the plan doesn’t go as it should. During the escape with the painting, the three are forced to take refuge in Adele’s house (Carolina Crescentini), a courageous woman who defends herself from fascists holding her husband’s rifle in war. It will soon be discovered that Adele is Moreno’s grandmother and that the Nazis have kidnapped little Monica, daughter of Adele and mother of Moreno. The gang now has another goal to achieve: he absolutely must bring the little girl home.

Between laughter, war and time travel, this modern one Brancaleone army will be faced with the drama of the Second World War and to men who have marked the history of our country and beyond. Benito Mussolini, King Vittorio Emanuele, Adolf Hitler And Sandro Pertini, in prison at the time due to his opposition to fascism, they become involuntary co-protagonists of the film.

There will be a final showdown: one clash with the Nazis memorable that will be resolved thanks to the intervention of old friends from the Magliana gangcaptained by the legendary Renatino (Edward Leo), and thanks to Gianfranco (Massimiliano Bruno) and Lorella (Giulia Bevilacqua). From cinema to TV series All we have left is crime

The lucky one film trilogy of Massimiliano Bruno also generated All we have left is the crime – the series (available on Sky and Now).

Marco Giallini, Gian Marco Tognazzi and Giampaolo Morelli they return to their roles. After the first film’s journey to the 1980sin which the Banda della Magliana prospered in Rome, and then in fascist Italy of the 1940sthe close-knit and fun band moves on in the 70s, in the circles of the youth left and those of the subversive right of the Borghese Coup.

In this new adventure Giuseppe (Tognazzi) discovers that he has been adopted. Curious to meet the mother, go back to 1970, meets Linda and saves her from an attack. In saving her he makes a serious mistake: it modifies the past and therefore also the present. Now Italy is one fascist dictatorship.
