Once again a poisonous snake escapes in the Netherlands: “The poison affects the nerves, which can be dangerous”

There is another poisonous snake on the loose in the Netherlands. Last year, a green mamba escaped in Tilburg near the Belgian border at the end of November. This is a shield-nosed cobra (Aspidelaps scutatus). The half-meter-long snake disappeared from its terrarium in Lelystad this week. The municipality of Lelystad asks residents to keep windows and doors closed, keep their distance and call 112 if they see the cobra.
