The winner of this Drenthe preliminary round will compete on 1 November during the Songfestival region in Arnhem.
Ten performing artists, almost all from our province, because one act comes from Rouveen. But the brothers from that village sing in the southern Drents and then of course it is allowed. The acts all bring new own songs, which can be voted on during the broadcast via the site or the RTV Drenthe app.
“The level of the participating artists is very high,” says reporter Robbert Oosting. “They are all artists who are familiar with the Drents, they have been singing in Drents for years. They are all good songs and completely new.”
The Songfestival Drenthe is presented by Robert Braam, hairdresser and playwright in daily life. Robbert Oosting will stop on Saturday evening with the jury members who assess the acts. “It is the first time we have done it that way, that is quite exciting,” Oosting continues, “many new faces, but I am confident that it will be fine.”
A special jury will take a closer look at the participating acts. There is a representative in that twelve jury of twelve on behalf of every municipality. The jury points are added to the voices of the Drenten and then we know who won. The festival will last until around 10.15 pm.
And the Atrium in the RTV Drenthe building has undergone a real metamorphosis for this festival. We can’t say more of that than it looks beautiful. So watch Saturday night and of course don’t forget to vote.
This singing competition is organized by RTV Drenthe with the support of the Huus van Taol and the province of Drenthe and is the successor of the Drèents Liedtiesfestival, of which the last edition was last year.
