Traffic in the north of the Netherlands still has to take into account dense fog on Friday morning, the KNMI reports.
The KNMI gave a code yellow in the west and center of the country on Thursday evening due to dense fog. In the course of the evening and night, the fog moved to Drenthe, Groningen and Friesland. The morning rush can still suffer from this, the fog will disappear in the course of the morning.
On Friday morning, the police reported an accident with seriously injured people on the Barnflair Oost in Ter Apel. A car and a tractor collided head-on. The front of the car partly ended up under a large tractor wheel. Police suspect the thick fog was the cause.
The autumn break starts for the schools in the North region this afternoon. An extra busy Friday evening rush is therefore expected.
