On the “Rizhskaya” of the Big metro ring in Moscow began to build a platform

In Moscow, the construction of a passenger platform has begun at the Rizhskaya station of the northeastern section of the Big Circle Line (BKL) of the Moscow Metro. This was announced on Wednesday by the Vice-Mayor of Moscow for urban policy and construction Andrei Bochkarev.

“Mining operations have been fully completed at the BKL Rizhskaya station. The monolithic works are 85% completed, the installation of the passenger platform structures has begun, and the laying of concrete on the first section has already been completed,” the deputy mayor said.

In addition, the installation of internal walls and partitions at the station is almost three-quarters completed, the vice-mayor specified. “The installation of four escalators and engineering systems continues. It is worth noting that Rizhskaya is being built in a closed way at a depth of more than 60 m, like another station in the northeastern section – Maryina Roshcha,” Bochkarev added.

According to the general director of Mosinzhproekt (the holding is the general designer and general contractor for the construction of new lines and stations of the Moscow metro), Yuri Kravtsov, architectural and finishing work continues in the vestibule of the Rizhskaya station.

“The lining of the walls of the passenger area with Shimanovsky granite in light gray tones has begun. At the same time, in the technical rooms of the lobby, the decoration is already nearing completion,” Kravtsov said. He recalled that the Rizhskaya BCL station will be connected by a transfer with the station of the same name on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro line, the Rizhsky railway station and the platforms of the second route of the Moscow Central Diameters (MTsD-2).

The head of the holding estimated the general construction readiness of the northeastern section of the BCL at 86%. “In addition to Rizhskaya, it includes the Sokolniki and Maryina Roshcha stations under construction, a connecting branch to the Nizhegorodskoye electric depot, as well as the Aviamotornaya, Lefortovo, and Elektrozavodskaya stations that have already been built, temporarily functioning as part of Nekrasovskaya metro lines,” Kravtsov recalled.

Opened BCL section in Moscow connected seven lines and two MCD stations

The Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line is a Moscow metro line under construction. The branch will connect the existing and planned radial metro lines at a distance of 10 km from the existing Circle Line. Its length will be more than 70 km. In total, there will be 31 stations on the BCL, 22 of them have already been opened. A new section of ten stations was opened in December last year. Moscow authorities expect to completely close the Big Ring by 2023.
