On the eve of European gas emergency plan, Putin warns of reduced supplies | Abroad

“Gazprom has fulfilled its obligations, will continue to fulfill them and will fulfill its obligations in full,” Putin emphasized on Tuesday evening. At the same time, the Russian president warned against a reduction in the Russian gas supply via Nord Stream 1 to Europe. This is reported by the Russian state news agency Tass.

State gas company Gazprom cut supplies through Nord Stream 1 by 60 percent in recent weeks. The company is responsible for deliveries abroad, but previously stated that the restart of Nord Stream 1 depends on others.

The state gas company previously asked the German Siemens to return a turbine that would be indispensable for the functioning of one of the gas compression stations of the pipeline. According to Tass, Putin also referred to that turbine, which is being repaired in Canada. If it does not return to Russia soon, power capacity through Nord Stream 1 could drop significantly from the end of July, the Russian president said in Tehran on Tuesday evening.
