SWR Sport is broadcasting the game of SG BBM Bietigheim in the European League with the Polish team MKS Zaglebie Lubin from 4 p.m. today in a live stream.
At the beginning of the second half of the European League, the women from Bietigheim play against the Polish champions in Lubin. Three wins from three games – so far the SG has been convincing in the European League. The SG BBM won the first leg in Bietigheim against Lubin with 29:19. The Baden-Württemberg team, which has played outstandingly this season, is now unbeaten in a total of 31 competitive games in all competitions.
Bietigheim so far without a blunder
In their group B, the SG ladies are the undisputed number one. Behind them is defending champions Les Neptunes de Nantes with four points, followed by Baia Mare with two points. Polish champions MKS Zaglebie Lubin bring up the rear with zero points. The top eight of the 16 teams in the four groups advance to the quarter-finals of the European League (EL), which ran under the name EHF Cup until 2020.
Starting position speaks for the women of the SG
The second leg in Poland represents a significant game for both teams. Lubin needs to score to keep the theoretical chance of reaching the quarter-finals alive. Lublin is in good form in the Polish league: 14 wins and two defeats mean first place. Bietigheim would almost certainly have a ticket to the quarter-finals with an away win and would also like to be in a perfect starting position for the game at home against Nantes on February 12 (also live on SWR from 4 p.m.).
The personnel situation in the ranks of the SG remains tense due to the corona. The test results and the subsequent sports medical examination of the corona patients, all of whom had a mild or symptom-free course of the disease, decide whether players are allowed to supplement the squad again.
