ÖMER ÜRÜNDÜL – İSMAİL WORKED FOR 3 PEOPLE
Last night, we were breathless in Osijek, Croatia. We had such a critical victory against such an important team that I really congratulate both our new coach Montella and our players.
We started the match brightly. Montella’s tactical plan was to not bring the opponent too far to our 18 with aggressive team pressing and to look for goals with the balls we won, to be thrown behind their defensive blocks.
This plan worked well beyond expectations for 60 minutes. While the opponent was not given a position, we scored a goal in the first half and we missed a total of 4 positions. Of course, in the last half hour, Croatia both increased the tempo and put on pressure.
