Konyaspor management had decided to convene on December 25 due to ongoing financial problems. Ömer Korkmaz, who was elected as the only candidate at the Extraordinary General Assembly held in a hotel today, was re-elected as the chairman by the unanimous vote of the delegates.
In his speech, President Korkmaz said, “We took over the important task with your support on November 27, 2023. As soon as we took office as the board of directors, we started our work with great devotion. We never gave up our struggle to be worthy of Konyaspor. I would like to thank our valuable fans who are always with us. They never left our Konyaspor alone. Of course, creating a strength and synergy is not only possible with the board members, the city’s administrators and dynamics need to be a stakeholder. Thank God, we have achieved this. “I think we have worked to contribute to our club economically throughout our tenure. We signed sponsorship agreements with many national companies at the end of last season for the sake of the sustainable economy of our club.” he said.
‘WE COULD NOT FIND A CLUB MANAGER’
President Ömer Korkmaz continued his speech and explained the problems they experienced during managerial changes. Korkmaz said: “We were able to replace four of our directors in this general assembly. The dedication of our friends on the board of directors is admirable. When we took this decision, we set out on the following path. Our friends who feel tired and do not want to continue should leave. I have no doubt in the sincerity of all my companions. They made the following offer. We have some receivables, we are on your side without pursuing them. This time we encountered a problem: We could not find a manager here. This is a common value for all of us. “We could not find a manager. We are faced with such a problem.”
