OM: Esmee (14) strangled in the home of suspect Olivier van de G. (32) | Inland

Olivier van de G. (32), who is suspected of killing Esmee (14) from Hazerswoude-Rijndijk, has strangled her, according to the Public Prosecution Service (OM). The Leiden resident would have killed her in his home.

A spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service confirms this. For the time being, the judiciary suspects the man from Leiden of manslaughter or murder. He would also have moved the girl after her death by lifting her onto his back. He would then have placed her body out of sight against a tree near the public road.

The girl became found dead on new years eve at the Melchior Treublaan in Leiden. On the same day, the 32-year-old from Leiden was arrested. He is also charged with fornication. That would have taken place in Leiden between January 10, 2021 and December 30, 2021.

Trainer

Van de G. taught at the gym association of which the teenager had been a member since November 2021. The man had been a trainer there since 2016.

His lawyer is currently unavailable for comment.
