OM demands life imprisonment against Saïd R., Taghi’s right-hand man

On Friday, the Public Prosecution Service demanded a life sentence against Saïd R., an important executive in Ridouan Taghi’s criminal network. The ANP news agency reports that he is suspected of being involved in several murders, attempted murder and leading a criminal organization, among other things.

The demand for life imprisonment was to be expected, since Taghi and four other suspects heard the same demand spoken against themselves last year. The criminal case against R. started later, partly because he still had to be extradited from Colombia, where he was arrested in 2020.

“Ridiculous”, ANP quotes the suspect when the demand was made against him. R. was the liaison between Taghi, who was the head of the criminal network, and Nabil B., the key witness who was involved in the liquidations. The court is expected to rule in October.
