The Public Prosecution Service on Tuesday sentenced him to 15 years in prison demanded against the alleged leader of a drug gang who allegedly exported 106 kilos of cocaine, laundered nearly 5 million euros and traded raw materials for crystal meth. According to the ANP news agency, it concerns 60-year-old Peter ‘Peerke’ S. from Eersel. The OM demanded sentences of 7 months to 10 years against ten other suspects.
It is clear to the judiciary that Peerke was the boss of the group. “He was at the top with a right hand that he could use as a personal assistant and bookkeeper and all kinds of jobs to handle.” The suspects did not let go much, according to the Public Prosecution Service: “Fear reigned in the organization, which put people under pressure, instilled fear and did not shy away from violence.”
The group was “at home in all markets,” writes the Public Prosecution Service, which, among other things, collected evidence through intercepted messages from encrypted messaging services used by criminals. One such system is Encrochat, a phone provider that the police hacked in 2020. The capture provided evidence for many dozens of criminal cases.
