Unlike an earlier hearing against a second suspect, singer Stien den Hollander was not present.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, Emiel’s fatal fall was preceded by a criminal encounter. The 24-year-old is said to have collected an amount of money on April 16 and then went to a house at Osdorper Ban in Amsterdam. It is still unclear what exactly happened there. Justice takes into account that he was held against his will and saw no other way out than to flee via the balcony. Emiel fell or jumped from the fourth floor and died on June 19, after nine weeks of coma.

‘Pre-planned action with multiple suspects’
The Public Prosecution Service states that there was a pre-planned action in which several suspects were involved. F. is said to have helped with the preparation and was present while detaining Den Hollander. Camera images, telephone data and car data would show that he was at the apartment on April 16 and left shortly before the fall. Later that evening he met in Zwaag with two co-suspects, including Jermandino S. (23), who had previously appeared in court.

“There was a plan, he was there,” the prosecutor said. “He was present during the deprivation of liberty and later at the debriefing. This is a serious and serious offense.”
‘Haven’t been to the Osdorper Ban’
F. denies everything. According to his lawyer Daan Wijburg, telephone and GPS data show that his client was not in the area. “He has not been to the Osdorper Ban,” said Wijburg. “He is being unjustly detained. There is nothing to show that he was in that house, let alone that he had anything to do with Emiel’s death.”
Richie F. got the last word: “I have nothing to do with this. I was not there. I think what happened is terrible.”
Police are trying to reconstruct what happened in the home
The investigation is still in progress. The police are trying to reconstruct what happened in the house and why Den Hollander saw no other way out than to jump. A total of five suspects have been arrested: F. (30), Jermandino S. (23), a 17-year-old and a 30-year-old man from Hoorn, and a 35-year-old man from Rotterdam, who is still in custody.
The Public Prosecution Service expects to complete the final file within three to six months. All suspects are expected to appear in court at the same time.
The next hearing against F. is scheduled for January 5.
