The man who was injured in a stabbing on De Ruijterstraat in Oss on Sunday evening is a 23-year-old man from Den Bosch. The stabbing was preceded by an argument on Industrielaan. The man was stabbed during the argument by a 16-year-old boy from Nistelrode. After the argument, the men both fled in a car and collided with each other on Ruijterstraat.

According to local residents, the man suffered a stab wound to his face and was completely covered in blood. After the argument, the men both got into another car. The 16-year-old boy crashed into a tree on Ruijterstraat. The man then hit the back of his car.

A local resident who heard a bang immediately decided to help. She saw that the cars had collided and that the men were arguing with each other. “I heard a lot of screaming and it seemed like they were trying to pull each other out of the car. I immediately called 911,” she said earlier.

Stab wound to face
According to the local resident, there were two men in the car that crashed into the back of the car. One of them was injured. “He had a stab wound in his face and was covered in blood. I said: ‘Just sit down, you’ve just had an accident’. He asked: ‘Am I stabbed?’.”

When she tried to help the injured man, the boy from the other car ran away. “The men told me that was the one who stabbed him.” According to her, the men who were in the car together are related.

On the run
Together with another local resident, the woman ran after the boy who had fled. He disappeared into the fire lanes behind the houses on Ruijterstraat. “Just when we were about to grab him, he ran away again. My neighbor ran even further after him.”

He was unable to catch the suspect, but the police arrested the boy nearby half an hour later. The man with the stab wound and another injured person were taken to hospital for treatment.
