Olympique Marseille vs. Olympique Lyon: venue has been determined

The Ligue 1 game between Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyon, which was canceled after an attack on the away team bus, will be played in Marseille as originally planned. The French Football League (LFP) announced this on Thursday. A week ago the game was rescheduled for December 6th.

The match on matchday 10, which was actually supposed to take place on October 29th, was canceled in advance due to riots. Lyon coach Fabio Grosso suffered cuts to his face after the bus was pelted with stones near the Stade Velodrome in Marseille.

In a statement from the LFP, the reasons for hosting the event in Marseille simply said that the decision had been made “on the basis of the information and guarantees provided by the prefecture of the Bouches-du-Rhone department.”
