The French first division soccer team Olympique Marseille has officially announced the commitment of the Spanish coach Marcelino.
The 57-year-old succeeds Croatian Igor Tudor, who left at the beginning of June after just one year at OM. Marcelino will start training with Marseille on July 3rd, with the final qualifying round for the Champions League on August 8th or 9th.
Marcelino had coached Athletic Bilbao until the end of June 2022, Marseille is his first coaching station outside of his native Spain.
In addition to Bilbao, the former midfielder was on the sidelines at top clubs FC Sevilla, FC Villarreal and FC Valencia. Marcelino won the Spanish Cup with Valencia in 2019.
