After 613 games
Olympique Marseille and captain Steve Mandanda (37) will go their separate ways in the future. As the club announced on Wednesday, the contract with the goalkeeper, which was originally valid until 2024, was terminated by mutual consent. The France international is leaving the club to pursue a new challenge, they say.
League competitor FC Stade Rennes made Mandanda’s commitment a little later. The goalkeeper signed a two-year contract. The French news agency “AFP” previously reported on the medical check-up that Mandanda completed on Wednesday before signing the contract. Photos already showed him in the training clothes of his future employer. For the goalkeeper it is the fourth station in his professional career. Mandanda made 613 appearances for Olympique Marseille, in which he kept 199 clean sheets.
