After 613 games
Olympique Marseille and captain Steve Mandanda (37) will go their separate ways in the future. As the club announced on Wednesday, the contract with the goalkeeper, which was originally valid until 2024, was terminated by mutual consent. The France international is leaving the club to pursue a new challenge, they say.
In the TM rumor mill, the goalkeeper is associated with league rival FC Stade Rennes. A move is nearing completion as Mandanda arrived in Brittany on Wednesday to complete his medical, according to French news agency AFP. Photos already show him in the training clothes of his probably future employer. For the goalkeeper it would be the fourth station in his professional career. Mandanda made 613 appearances for Olympique Marseille, in which he kept 199 clean sheets.
