Corentin Tolisso is one of the players at FC Bayern who could leave the club in the summer without a fee. Because: The Munich team has not yet extended the contract that expires at the end of June. Apparently, that also brought his ex-club onto the scene, which has already become active.
Corentin Tolisso has been allowed to hold contract talks with clubs other than Bayern Munich since January 1st. The midfielder thus has the opportunity to prepare for the event that his employment with the German record champions ends in the summer without further extension.
As Vincent Ponsot, technical director of Olympique Lyon, revealed on Wednesday, there has already been contact with the Bayern professional. “We spoke to Corentin Tolisso,” he confirmed on the sidelines of the presentation of Tanguy Ndombélé, who has returned from the winter.
The 27-year-old Tolisso switched from OL to FC Bayern in 2017 for the then record sum of 41.5 million euros. Five years later, the Frenchman could apparently go back to his training club. Ponsot explained: “The trend of contracts expiring can be an option for us to bring back former players. If there is an opportunity, we have to take it.”
Will Tolisso move from Bayern Munich to Real Madrid?
The 2018 world champion once made the leap from juniors to professionals at Olympique Lyon. After 160 games for his colors, he finally signed with FC Bayern, where he has only played a total of 111 competitive games so far. Tolisso was repeatedly absent due to injuries, and he has already missed several of his team’s games this season.
In the end, it was the lack of reliability that caused Tolisso to drop down the rankings in central midfield. However, after both Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka were absent in the meantime, the right footer knew how to convince. According to reports, the German record champions are now seriously considering submitting a new working paper to Tolisso.
The coming weeks should show whether the rethinking comes too late from the point of view of the 28-time national player. According to Spanish media, in addition to a return to Lyon, there is also a move to Real Madrid in the room. At OL, Tolisso could meet former Munich player Jérôme Boateng, at Real he would join David Alaba. Both left FC Bayern on a free transfer last summer.
