An error knocks out the blue who was sixth after the first heat. The Swiss triumphs, Kranjec and Faivre also on the podium
Luca De Aliprandini’s Olympic adventure ends after a few gates of the second heat. Sixth after the first heat 49 cents from the leader (the Swiss Marco Odermatt), the blue got on, lost his right ski and said goodbye to medal dreams. The gold is of the favorite, Marco Odermatt, the only one to resist the comeback of Kranjec, silver. Bronze in Faivre.

With a super test the Slovenian Zan Kranjec, who was eighth after the first heat, put pressure on the last seven at the start. Feller and De Aliprandini (who were seventh and sixth) came out, Favrot (fifth) made a mistake and ended up behind Kranjec and also Radamus. Errors also for Kristoffersen, who was fourth and ended up out of the race for the medals. Faivre managed to get close to the Slovenian (at 1 ”15), Brennsteiner (second after the first heat) went out.
Marco Odermatt managed to keep the first place: the leader of the World Cup finished in 2’09 ”35, with 19 cents ahead of Kranjec and 1” 34 on Faivre. The other two Azzurri in the race, Sala and Vinatzer, had gone out in the first heat.
