IOC President Thomas Bach visited the Olympic Village for the 2024 Summer Games in Paris on Friday and said he was “very pleased” with the state of preparation for the Games, which begin in just under eight months on July 26 (until August 11 ).
“It’s always a great moment to be in the village. This is where the heart of the Olympic Games will beat. What we can see here is spectacular, compact and very pragmatic,” said the 69-year-old after a tour of Saint-Denis white construction helmet and red safety vest.
The buildings, which cover around 300,000 square meters and are almost completed, will accommodate up to 14,000 people for the games.
