The head coach of Mikkelin Jukurei Olli Jokinen continues his coaching career abroad, reports Evening News.

According to IS information, Jokinen, who piloted Jukurit to a sensational attack, will be the head coach of Timrå IK, which plays in the Swedish premier league, next season.

Jokinen’s new contract is for two years and it also includes a one-year option, says IS.

Timrån serves as the director of sports Kimmo Kapanen. Both Kapanen and Jokinen took their hockey lessons in Ensiaskeleet Kuopio, but the two never played in the same team.

Jokinen started in Jukurei in May 2021 with a 2+1 year contract. In October 2022, Jukurit used the option in Jokinen’s contract, which is why he has continued as the club’s head coach in the current season as well.

Jukurit has raised its profile under Jokinen. The club is currently third in the SM league standings.

The position of head coach in Jukurei is Jokinen’s first coaching job at the major league level.
