The Swedish club Timrå wants Olli Jokinen as the head coach next season.

According to Expressen, Jokinen is Timrå’s favorite wish for next season.

Jokinen, who has coached Mikkeli Jukurei since 2021 told MTV on Sunday that he will leave the Mikkeli club and the SM league after this season.

– We haven’t locked anything in yet, but this is something we are working on, Timrå’s director of sports Kimmo Kapanen tells Expressen.

According to Ruotsalaislehti, Timrå’s current coach Anders Karlsson is not the number one favorite to be the head coach next season, although he is a viable option.

– Many clubs are interested in Olli, Kapanen says.

Both Kapanen and Jokinen took their hockey lessons in Ensiaskeleet Kuopio, but the two never played in the same team.

Jokinen ended his long NHL career in the spring of 2015. During 17 seasons, he played 1,231 games in which he scored 750 (321+429) power points.
