Olivia Rodrigo: New album GUTS will be released in September

For the production of GUTS, Rodrigo once again collaborated with Daniel Nigro.

After a spectacular career advancement, things had been quiet around Olivia Rodrigo for a while. The 20-year-old singer – who created a worldwide hit in 2021 with her song “Drivers License” – has been touring for the past few years, filming a new season of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” – but pulled otherwise musically back. Until now: Now the American singer-songwriter has announced the release of her second album GUTS.

GUTS will be released on September 08, 2023 via Interscope. For the production, Rodrigo once again collaborated with Daniel Nigro, who already produced her debut album SOUR. Regarding the new record, the singer says, according to Spin, “For me, this album is about growing pains and trying to figure out who I am at this point in my life.” She adds, “I feel like that I grew 10 years between the ages of 18 and 20 – it was such an intense time of awkwardness and change. I think that’s a natural part of growth and hopefully the album reflects that.”

Her fans can already look forward to the first single from the record “Vampire”, which will be released on Friday (June 30).

At the 2022 Grammys, Olivia Rodrigo not only won Best New Artist, but also Best Pop Album and Best Pop Solo Performance. Their two songs “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U” landed at number one in the US charts, and SOUR has been certified four times platinum in the US.
