Rammstein: Tens of thousands are calling for the Berlin concerts to be canceled – this is how the Olympic Stadium is reacting

Because of the allegations against Rammstein singer Till Lindemann, several petitions are demanding that the three shows planned for July be canceled. But it doesn’t seem to be that easy.

On July 15th, 16th and 18th Rammstein will perform in Berlin. However, there has been resistance to the planned shows in the Olympic Stadium for weeks. Several petitions are calling for the concerts to be canceled – the online signature campaign “No stage for Rammstein” justifies this with the words: “Berlin must not become a place for sexual abuse!” Almost 64,000 people have already signed for it.

Rammstein in Berlin: That’s what the operators of the Olympic Stadium say

Loud like the Olympic Stadium “Daily Mirror” has stated that the contract between the tour organizer and operator continues to apply, regardless of the outcome of the petition against the Rammstein concerts. If there is a termination, contractual penalties could be incurred – however, the operators of the stadium do not want to comment on this.

According to the “Berliner Zeitung”, Senator for Culture Joe Chialo’s hands are also tied. He understands the petitions started against Rammstein, but he has to abide by “law and order”. The Olympic Stadium belongs to the state of Berlin, so the petitions launched are aimed at those responsible, including Chialo, as well as the Interior Senator Iris Spranger and the stadium manager Timo Rohwedder. Today, Tuesday (June 27th), the signatures collected are to be handed over at an action in front of the Berlin Senate administration.

Only one thing is certain at the moment: There will be no after-show parties on the premises of the State of Berlin, provided they are under the administration of the Senator for the Interior. This was announced at the beginning of June and confirmed again on request. However, Spranger also emphasizes: “Especially after the conclusion of the contract, there is no way for an individual member of the Supervisory Board to ban an event, cancel it or terminate the contract.”

Hackers paralyze the petition

Last Thursday (June 22), hackers are said to have Petition on Campact attacked: With the help of bots, numerous forged signatures were submitted, which meant that the signature campaign was unable to collect any signatures by midday on Monday (06/26). It is currently unknown who is behind the attack.
