Half a century of Finnish rock history is coming to an end when Eppu Normaali ends its 50-year journey this year. The band’s first farewell concert was organized on Friday at the Bolt Arena in Helsinki.
The legendary band started their gig With the Kaljanlanting song. After the first song, Eput entered the stage from inside the cabin, accompanied by resounding applause and whistles.

Before the gates opened, fans also opened their purse strings to Iltalehte. Many people had spent several hundred euros on the concert trip and tickets.

Eppu Normaali announced its closure at a press conference held in October last year. However, the band is not going to break up.
– We have this community that has been around for a long time and continues. Then we can make some music together, we can even record music, but we won’t go on stage anymore, singer Martti Syrjä said at the press conference.
– The band is not ending here. No one wants to. We had that conversation and everyone stated that Mr. Jestas didn’t. We don’t want to end the band, but we want to end gigging when the moment is right.
