The situation has been etched in the minds of many Finnish sports fans: Finland won the under-20 ice hockey world championship in Helsinki in January 2016.
Kasperi Kapanen scored the deciding goal at the beginning of the overtime period, after about a minute and a half had been played.
Kapanen decided the game by going around the Russian goal and placing the puck behind the Russian goalkeeper in the old fashioned way.
In the final, Russia fell 4–3.

Fast forward to Moncton and today. Oliver Kapanen bypassed Slovakia’s Pak and the goal and passed the puck with an old-fashioned dunk.
The coincidence approaches the unbelievable, because Oliver is, of course, Kasper’s cousin.
Many aspects of the hit reminded me of my cousin’s goal just under seven years earlier.
– It wasn’t Kasper’s goal in that sense. If there’s a place, we’ll do it. Let’s continue the family traditions.
– That’s how we managed to make it 3-2, I got a good challenge and I went around the goal, the captain of the Young Lions said.

– Yaa-a, I probably have to go to B or A junnu years. Today’s shopkeepers rarely get those. They move so well.
A relief win
Finland failed in its opening game against Switzerland and lost. The uproar at home was already loud.
