The future of Robert Lewandowski is currently dominating the headlines about FC Bayern. The Pole is even said to be flirting with a transfer. The executive floor thinks little of it.
Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has ruled out a change from world footballer Robert Lewandowski this summer. “Apparently there is a competition out there, who brings the biggest nonsense story about Robert Lewandowski,” said Kahn on Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday evening shortly before the quarter-final second leg of the German soccer record champions against FC Villarreal.
The Pole, in whose home country an allegedly fixed transfer to FC Barcelona was reported on Monday, will “definitely” play for Bayern in the coming season.
“It is very important to mention that we have a contract that is valid for another season,” said Kahn, referring to contract talks that had already begun. The striker’s current working paper in Munich expires in the summer of 2023: “If there’s something to report, then we’ll do it too.” The club is “not discussing a change from a player who scores between 30 and 40 goals every season,” said Kahn. The television station TVP reported on Monday that Kahn had already been informed of the 33-year-old Lewandowski’s wish to leave.
