This morning the tap went into the building, where almost every Wevelgem resident learned to swim for fifty years. The pool has been empty for a while because the new pool is now open.
“With the demolition, a piece of Wevelgem’s history will disappear,” says mayor Jan Seynhaeve. “Just under 50 years ago there was the solemn inauguration of a new swimming pool for Wevelgem. Half a century later we have to conclude that it has had its time.”
