Old waste is still preserved after more than 50 years

The Proper Strand Lopers, volunteers who keep our beaches clean, have collected some of the historical waste on the beach in Bredene. Today they still find waste that is 50 years old or older. The wind from the dunes brings up the old waste. Many packages do not break down even after 50 years.

The retro waste tells a historical story. The 1960s mark the beginning of the throwaway society.
