Angelina, who wrote the email in January 2021, also explains that she has deliberately chosen to communicate in this way. In her own words, she would otherwise have “reacted emotionally”. “Chateau Miraval was a place with many possibilities. I thought I would grow old there. Just by writing this email, I have to cry again,” it sounds, among other things.

In her email, the actress also makes it clear that the vineyard “marks both the beginning and the end of their family”. In addition, it is clearly a place that is “all about alcohol”. In her own words, Angelina Jolie had hoped the vineyard could bring them together in some way. In the end, however, the opposite turned out to be the case. According to the American actress, Brad Pitt would therefore be “very happy with this email”. Jolie writes that it was Pitt’s greatest wish that she would no longer have anything to do with Chateau Miraval.

The ‘Maleficent’ actress further writes that she has seen “a lot of inappropriate behavior” in recent years. She felt left out. In addition, money would have been spent in ways she would never approve of herself. Decisions were also made without her knowledge. Jolie therefore indicates that she was “hurt by certain choices”. In her eyes, Brad never intended to share their case with her. The American actor would also have been reluctant to “turn the vineyard into a healthier environment for their children”.

As a result, the actress wanted nothing more to do with the vineyard. “It’s a business that revolves around alcohol. Drinks have destroyed our family,” the email reads. For Jolie there were only two options left. Sell ​​the vineyard entirely or just sell its shares. “Whatever it is, we have to move on with our lives. We need to focus on our family. And fast.”

Angelina Jolie also briefly refers in her email to the incident from 2016 in which the couple got into an argument on a private jet. According to the actress, Pitt strangled one of their children at the time. In addition, the actor would have punched one of their other children in the face.
